Trente ans se sont \u00e9coul\u00e9s depuis que le caporal-chef Mark Isfeld a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 sa m\u00e8re, Carol, de cr\u00e9er des poup\u00e9es pour les enfants vivant au milieu des d\u00e9combres de la guerre. Aujourd\u2019hui, plus de deux millions de poup\u00e9es Izzy<\/a> plus tard, cet h\u00e9ritage de compassion brille plus fort que jamais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le 15 d\u00e9cembre 2024, des sapeurs du 1er R\u00e9giment du g\u00e9nie de combat (1 RGC)<\/strong> et de l\u2019\u00c9l\u00e9ment d\u2019instruction du g\u00e9nie de l\u2019Op\u00e9ration UNIFIER<\/strong> ont visit\u00e9 un centre de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s ukrainiens en Pologne pour livrer une cargaison sp\u00e9ciale : plus de 150 poup\u00e9es Izzy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les poup\u00e9es Izzy, confectionn\u00e9es par de nombreux groupes de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles d\u00e9vou\u00e9s au Canada, \u00e9taient de toutes formes, couleurs et tailles. L\u2019impact a \u00e9t\u00e9 imm\u00e9diat. De nombreux enfants les ont tout de suite serr\u00e9es contre eux, jouant avec leurs bras et jambes, donnant vie \u00e0 ces simples cr\u00e9ations de laine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bien que le 1 RGC ne repr\u00e9sente qu\u2019une partie de ce mouvement plus grand que nature, son engagement est in\u00e9branlable. Peu importe o\u00f9 le r\u00e9giment se d\u00e9ploiera \u00e0 l\u2019avenir, et peu importe qui ouvrira la marche, ils ont promis de perp\u00e9tuer fi\u00e8rement l\u2019h\u00e9ritage du caporal-chef \u00ab Izzy \u00bb Isfeld : le soldat qui collectionnait les petits sourires, les petites poign\u00e9es de main et les petits c\u0153urs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
